L-Lysine by SciFit is a protein amino acid that is classified as an essential amino acid for humans and therefore must be supplied in the diet. L-Lysine may reduce the herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections and/or reduce their severity in some. In a double blind, placebo controlled, multicenter trial of L-Lysine supplementation, the group receiving 1000mg of L-Lysine daily for six months experienced an average of 2.4 fewer herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections and their symptoms were significantly reduced.
